Hiking award - Lungauer Wandernadel
What could be better than getting up at early in the morning, packing a snack in your backpack, and starting for a beautiful mountain tour? The Lungau region in Salzburg is considered a true hiking paradise with romantic alpine pastures, magnificent peaks, and numerous mountain lakes.
The booklet "Lungauer Wandernadel" (available from all tourist offices) motivates children in particular, but of course adults too, to go for hiking. Collecting points is a fun activity that quickly makes you forget the physical exertion.
For each tour described in the booklet, there is a stamp at the destination. The more stamps you can show, the more valuable the Lungau hiking pin you receive in return. These are available in bronze, silver, gold, and the tour pin for those who have hiked all the tours. The points are not limited in time and can be collected over several years.
